Other phone repairs in Derry
Not every fault has its own page. Speakers, microphones, buttons, vibration, back glass, software problems and phones that will not start — if it is a phone, bring it in and we will have a look.
Faults we are asked to look at
If your phone is misbehaving in a way that is not about the screen, battery, charging port, camera or liquid damage, there is a good chance it is on this list.
- Speaker and earpiece problems — callers sound muffled, the phone crackles, or you can only hear people on loudspeaker.
- Microphone faults — people cannot hear you on calls, or voice notes come out silent or distorted.
- Sticky or dead buttons — power and volume buttons that do not click, feel stuck or have stopped responding.
- No vibration — the phone no longer buzzes for calls, messages or alarms.
- Cracked back glass and damaged rear panels, on handsets with a glass back.
- SIM tray issues — a tray that will not eject, or a phone that has stopped seeing the SIM.
- Headphone socket problems, where the phone still thinks headphones are plugged in.
- Software trouble — stuck on the logo, boot loops, apps that keep crashing, storage that is full, or a phone that has slowed to a crawl.
- Help with setup and moving data — setting up a new handset, transferring contacts, photos and messages, and backing up what matters.
- Phones for sale — we sell handsets as well as repairing them, so ask what is in stock and what it costs.
One thing we cannot do: we are not able to bypass account locks, passwords or security protections on a phone. If a device is locked and you cannot get in, bring proof it is yours and we will discuss what options are actually available.
What happens when you bring it in
- We find out what is really wrong A “dead microphone” can turn out to be a blocked mesh, an app permission or a software fault — and that is a very different bill from a replacement part. We check the simpler explanations first.
- We tell you what the repair involves Which part is likely to be needed, whether it is a parts job or a software/setup job, and what it would cost.
- You approve before anything is done Price, part and timeframe all confirmed with you first. If we find something unexpected, we come back to you rather than carrying on.
- We carry out the work and test it Calls, sound, buttons, vibration, charging, cameras and signal, as far as the repair allows. You get to check it yourself before you leave.
About data and backups
For anything involving software, resets or a phone that will not start, please ask about your data before work begins. Some repairs can be done without touching your data at all; others may need a reset that wipes the phone. If your phone still turns on, backing up your photos, contacts and messages before you bring it in is always a sensible move — and if you are not sure how, ask and we can talk you through it.
We will always try to protect your data as far as the fault allows, but please do not assume that data can be recovered from a phone that will not start.
Asking about price, parts and turnaround
Ring +44 7955 584114 with the make and model and a plain description of what the phone is doing — “the mic is dead on calls”, “it is stuck on the logo”, “the volume button is jammed”. Then ask:
- what the repair would cost, and whether it is a parts job or a software job
- whether the part is in stock at the shop or needs ordered in
- how long you would be without the phone, and whether your data is affected
Any estimate is confirmed with you before work begins. We do not promise fixed turnaround times, because it depends on the fault and on parts availability.
Other phone repairs for Derry and the surrounding areas
Celco is at 17 Ferryquay Street, Londonderry, BT48 6JB, in Derry city centre — easy to call into if you are in town around The Diamond, Ferryquay Gate or the Quays. Customers bring phones to us from all across Derry and the surrounding areas, and ringing ahead from outside the city lets us check parts and get a better idea of the job before you travel in.
If you are not sure whether a repair is worth doing at all, ask. Sometimes the honest answer is that a new handset makes more sense, and we would rather tell you that than take money for a repair the phone does not really need.
